Has anyone here ever called the suicide prevention hotline? What was it like and what did they do to help?

I hear they either piss you off enough through sheer callous disregard for your situation or "I'm not allowed to go into that" that you're too angry to do the thing, or they call the cops on you so they can mag dump u during ur "welfare check"
Mixed experience. I've called in the middle of the night when I needed to talk to someone and it was good to get things off my chest. That's about as far as it goes. You're the only one that can fix the root of your problems. I guess it differs from place to place.
