eastern european gypsies still do it, it's mainly seen as an issue because instead of picking someone that they think is good for their daugther they just pick the richest guy they can find and don't really care about anything other than that. most of the wives also happen to be like 12-15, 16-18 if they're feeling ethical. the only gypsies that i can think of which stopped practicing it are the nordic located ones, mainly finland
