For me when you love someone, you don't want them to be with someone else much less have sex with them, it's an act of completely disloyalty to your partner. It signals they could leave you for someone else at any moment and so naturally, all your time, effort and love can go to waste in the blink of an eye. You'll be left picking up the pieces, probably taking years or decades to recover emotionally. Seems only logical to then ask yourself "why should I pursue/stay with someone so promiscuous and volatile?" 
What you describe is a complete antithesis to my definition of love. I have to ask, what is your partner to you? Someone to fall back on when your main or side fuck buddy leaves?
