i've setup another streaming service that uses webrtc and seems much much better than owncast it's under very active development and doesn't have integrated chat yet (but it seems like this has been implemented recently and is poised to be included in the next release if am no mistaken) but in terms of latency it's insane how better it is, there's basically maybe 1-2 second of delay out of the box and you can bring this even lower if you configure obs apparently anyway, if anyone wants to test it out this is what you need to do in obs go to stream tab 1. set service to WHIP 2. set this as the server: https://stream1.sluts4sale.com/api/whip 3. you can set bearer token to anything, this will identify your stream after you start streaming, you can view the stream on https://stream1.sluts4sale.com/yourbearertoken

Does jschan have a json feed for every active thread? If it does, I can roll something that can spit out thread replies like comments so livechatting in streams can still works, it just has to be in a specific thread.

With WHIP, would there still be an open player that appears at the top when 1 or more streams are running? Imagine if it scaled to an unlimited number of streams and they all got multiplexed together, like a zoom call of different streams, that's 100 active user tier but one can dream ^^

This WHIP thing works really nice, if we cant get integrated comments, you could always get a chat going by showing an [s4s] thread in the stream and we could just post there.
Here's an example of WHIP working. You have to interact with the browser instance showing the thread and enable automatic scrolldown on new replies and also change the theme to have better contrast and add opacity to the custom CSS.
you don't even need OBS to stream stuff if you choose the second option on stream1.sluts4sale.com, it'll let you stream the contents of your browser tab, desktop or webcam. The stream key is also your bearer key.
