making video games is one of those things that require an insane number of skills to put together a working project, the whole programming aspect is just an implementation detail and can be outsourced, if you don't have a fun idea and good art and/or music to go with it, it really has no chance of getting anyone's attention

I'd play any videogame made by a Squishy. It doesn't have to be the next Elden Ring or anything sixty hours long. Just a short passion project that expresses your creativity. Some of my favorite ichi.io games are less than an hour long.

I use more restricted editors and focus on the parts I like now (making decent dungeon rpg maps is a fun challenge, hitting the right note of visually compelling, intuitive to navigate and fun to explore is its own artform)
