my main concern is not someone making porn of their schoolmates/coworkers but rather this being used by bullies to smear/spread rumors to ruin people socially all the way to destabilizing misinformation from foreign state actors

but then again maybe people will actually stop plastering their photos online everywhere

That's a valid concern to have, i guess them being able to do that also opens them up for you to do the exact same to them. We'll just have to hope that the prospect of mutually assured defamation will prevent some cases until more effective tools to combat this emerge I guess. 
I don't remember what it's called, but I saw someone spot an AI image by filtering out the invisible "noise" in an image that's only ever present with AI generated images
