do you ever fantasize about your own suicide or the aftermath of it? I do
I figure I'll clean my room real good, factory reset my devices, withdraw all my money and send it to my mom, then I'll go deep into the forest and do it, after a couple of days of fasting so my body is clean and beautiful

finding magick's cute lifeless body in the woods
taking magick home and washing his cute body and playing dressup and keeping him in my freezer so he won't rot ^_^

I used to fantasize about killing my dad, my dads parents, my dads sister, shoot up a mall and wait for the cops to shoot me down. Funnily enough, most of my teen years were spent fantasizing this scenario with various other places that I'd shoot up but the gun laws here are too cucked.
>factory reset my devices
Unless encryption is applied you'd need at least 5 wipes so that the forensics team doesn't get to the data.

I'm not worried about a forensics team, I just want someone else to use them
I don't think the police or someone will bring a whole ass tech forensics team to check the phone of someone who just went missing deliberately

I'm kinda messed up so I do fantasize about someone having their way with my cold lifeless corpse in the morgue and jerking themselves off with my cold hands and feet and stealing my body and hollowing it out injecting it with preservatives so they can keep me in their house like a well preserved sex doll, the actual death part is gross tho.
>Unless encryption is applied you'd need at least 5 wipes so that the forensics team doesn't get to the data.
This is such weird disinfo
just write over it with random noise once and it's unreachable
Devices don't have a magic storage space of 8x their size

Also this is only for spinning rust anyway, flash memory of any kind is irretrievable intrinsically

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_remanence#Causes
>Even when an explicit deleted file retention facility is not provided or when the user does not use it, operating systems do not actually remove the contents of a file when it is deleted unless they are aware that explicit erasure commands are required, like on a solid-state drive. (In such cases, the operating system will issue the Serial ATA TRIM command or the SCSI UNMAP command to let the drive know to no longer maintain the deleted data.) Instead, they simply remove the file's entry from the file system directory because this requires less work and is therefore faster, and the contents of the file—the actual data—remain on the storage medium. The data will remain there until the operating system reuses the space for new data. In some systems, enough filesystem metadata are also left behind to enable easy undeletion by commonly available utility software. Even when undelete has become impossible, the data, until it has been overwritten, can be read by software that reads disk sectors directly. Computer forensics often employs such software.
>
>Likewise, reformatting, repartitioning, or reimaging a system is unlikely to write to every area of the disk, though all will cause the disk to appear empty or, in the case of reimaging, empty except for the files present in the image, to most software.
>
>Finally, even when the storage media is overwritten, physical properties of the media may permit recovery of the previous contents. In most cases however, this recovery is not possible by just reading from the storage device in the usual way, but requires using laboratory techniques such as disassembling the device and directly accessing/reading from its components.

the suicide thread devolved into an autistic discussion about data recovery

just malebrained things lole

btw I always understood that a single overwrite with zeros will make all data unrecoverable on spinning rust, flash memory controllers are completely opaque to the operating system and all of them are proprietary so you're not gonna undo deletions no matter how hard you try, especially if you throw your devices in the microwave first
i preferred the corpse discussion

>using laboratory techniques such as disassembling the device and directly accessing/reading from its components.
This is what doesn't work retard
It's based on potentials left behind from the rust but that only means something if you know what was written to the disk before the wipe and only really works if you wipe with all 0s or all 1s, which nobody does or would ever do and which we explicitly weren't discussing

kill yourself niggerfaggot

Imagine being a cute purpan and being ded cus some male stalker wanted to devour u and choked u so yuore in the morgue now, late at night and the pathologist blows air into your lungs by giving mouth to mouth and puts a hitachi to your throat to make you vocal chords vibrate while he pushes down on ur stomach to make your cute voice come out "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh", which he then records samples and runs it through an AI deepfake voice generator thingy and makes you say lewd things on repeat while he has his way with u all night long >///<

It's irrelevant whether the last bit doesn't work or not, you've been refuted and that's that. Here's another, easier to comprehend source just for you because you seem to be so stuck up with your ego
https://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/manual/html_node/shred-invocation.html#shred-invocation
>Ordinarily when you remove a file (see rm: Remove files or directories), its data and metadata are not actually destroyed. Only the file’s directory entry is removed, and the file’s storage is reclaimed only when no process has the file open and no other directory entry links to the file. And even if file’s data and metadata’s storage space is freed for further reuse, there are undelete utilities that will attempt to reconstruct the file from the data in freed storage, and that can bring the file back if the storage was not rewritten.
