i had a friend who was addicted to triple c's, just another name for dxm. he used to shoplift his fix at the local drugstore, and one time he was so out of it, i taped a little stick figure on his back because i thought it was funny, and we were friends. we smoked weed together, and he'd always buy the group munchies, but he stopped talking to me, probably because his mom was so strict and freaked out a lot over him. i'm sure he's sober now, or at least not bothering with dxm. highschool was a turbulent time for all of us, spiritually.

it's hard to explain. it doesn't really matter where you are or who you're with sometimes, it just kind of happens when you're too stressed or anxious or overwhelmed. when i describe it to people they tell me it sounds like dissociation but who knows. i'll just realize ive been having a line of thought/conversation with myself for minutes or hours straight, completely oblivious to my surroundings or completely helpless to take any action. i dunno. it's a fickle thing. unfortunately it feels like it only gets solved by doing things and being around people, which is a challenge in and of itself
