i got a new card from the bank, so that i could pay off my auto insurance. really lame adult stuff, and i can't stop being afraid of engaging with that world.

really nice, i see those around where i live often. is it manual? manuals are so satisfying to drive, i always imagine a rhythm game "perfect!" in my head when i shift just right.

sounds like you hate your car, did someone coax you into buying it? what would you rather drive, ideally?

my old car (beautiful angelic 2002 camry) got totaled when some kids on the freeway spun out in front of me a few years ago. my dad pressured me into buying my current one (even though it already had some 190k miles on it) even though i feel like i could have found something better. it's been a few years now, anyways. all i care about really is that it has good mpg and a good stereo system.

it's just not even ugly in a cute way, yknow...?

i made a big improvement on the broccoli rice recipe that ive been making as a dinner staple for years
usually i just put broccoli rice and spam together with some seasonings
but today i baked and broiled the broccoli rice with lots of added butter so it could brown. and it was really tasty.
i know it might not be the healthiest but im rail thin so it's wortth it,..,

that's insane, at least you survived. when i was buying my first car, my mom did the same to me, trying to pressure me into getting something that would suffice, but not be something i'd really wanted, and she wouldn't drive out far to buy the car i'd wanted. somehow, after refreshing facebook market place more than i even do 4chan for ~2 months, God blessed me with the exact car i'd wanted, sold in a nearby neighborhood. the timing was even immaculate because we had to move out far from where we lived by the end of the month.

as long as your car gets you from point a to b, i think there's inherent value in that, and even then, your car is one of those popular with enthusiasts, so there's a lot of potential if you wanted to go customize it and then make it personal, or even sell it and get something you'd rather have. my car doesn't even have a radio, so i think you're doing good for yourself, squishy.

i couldn’t survive without my stereo… they don’t want you to know this but the best music listening environment is in the driver’s seat.

what kind of car did you get?

ehhh, it's too loud to hear anything in my car but the symphonic revving of the 3 cylinder anyways. makes up for not having a tachometer, at least. i got an absolute shitbox, a white 1990 geo metro, 172k miles, but i absolutely adore her. she's actually got some jdm blood in her, a domestic rebranding of the suzuki cultus/swift.

i think it's absolutely hilarious whenever my mom rides with me in it, especially knowing she wanted something more posh for me. the thing constantly sounds like it's about to fall apart at the seams, and on top of the loud engine/exhaust, the loud ac is always on so that the windows don't fog up. it's kinda wild, but it's honestly just how i like it. i will eventually put in a stereo, but i have to solder electrical wires, which i've never done before. my sister is somehow an electrical engineer, so maybe i can ask her for help...

you said you were gonna fill out your fafsa? what do you study? i could honestly never into higher education. highschool was stressful enough for my little brain.

that's pretty dope lol, cool car. parents are weird. families are weird.

this'll be my third crack at college, just wrapped up my generals the first time before covid hit then tried going back for music but i didnt have enough financial support. still dunno what i'll study, probably something related to math or maybe law i honestly have no idea it's kind of overwhelming

hmmm... sounds like you really value music in your life. i'd say you have to find a way to keep that passion in your life, even if you decide to not pursue it careerwise. i think not everyone values music the same, so even if others don't understand, it's still worth it just for your self fulfillment.

families are pretty dumb at times, but as the saying goes, "blood is thicker than water".

that's unfortunate, no wonder you're so hesitant to apply for fafsa. even though it is self study, you might find this useful:
https://www.pianofundamentals.com/book/en/chapter_1

as long as you have this passion, it will stick with you for a lifetime, no matter how far you stray, so don't think it's a race to the top, but a journey to be experienced. i wish you all the best in this critical point in your soul searching, that you find the answers you're looking for, whether inside yourself, or from an opportunity from without.
