Happy Pascha everyone
Al Messih qam
Nothing like a good several hour long church service beginning at 11 PM, and then having a feast and drinking afterward until 4 am, then having to work to help my deadbeat dad at 9:30 AM who volunteered me to help his boss without asking me beforehand at the last moment
Atleast I'll get paid...

Huh i guess new calendar easter falls on the same date this year
I'm orthodox though so normally its different
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

easter is a pagan holiday meant to venerate mesopotamian goddess ishtar, or astartes through traditions such as painting eggs. the vatican is based on such pagan traditions, and had it so that the calendar would allow easter to fall on a sunday each year. they do not necessarily celebrate the resurrection of jesus christ, as in the past, they have delayed easter by as much as a week to avoid coincidence with pascha, and this year, the pope is conspicuously absent from easter service.

"easter" is an anglo thing though and im pretty sure all other catholics in their languages call it some variation of passover like we do
i'll bet if anything the church of england is responsible for rebranding passover as "easter" in order to make themselves more different from the catholics and make their religion more english
>>46234
do you have your own orthodox bunny?
>>46234
i'm not so well versed on the origins of these pagan traditions, it's all really new information to me, but from my understanding, catholicism has been no good news to christianity. at the highest level, i don't think they serve the same God we do. in certain texts, the pope refers to himself as Christ's vicar in latin, or vicarously, Christ. that's basically arrogantly putting himself in the authority of Jesus, and it's been theorized by Martin Luther, that the anti christ, referred to in revelations, is the pope.

i feel as though the only reason england would've done something like this, is because of rome. the romans were literally the ones that allowed Jesus to be crucified, and the society of Jesus, or the jesuit order, founded by ignacio of loyola, literally infiltrated english/scottish freemasonry so that they could assert more power and influence for the church back in rome. it's all really fucked up. i'd be surprised if the pope actually makes an appearance on pascha this year because of it's coincidence with easter. he has been "sick with pneumonia" or something. very odd timing.

i thought you were referring to pascha as in passover the jewish holiday
are you coptic?
>>46234
i never really thought about it but i just checked a couple of languages and that seems to be the case, which is weird to me because in my language the word for easter basically just means "the resurrection" which makes it a bit of an outlier despite the fact i feel we have the most suitable name for the actual holiday instead of using a jewish term which refers to something else (their expulsion from egypt)

Do you really have a family if they don't volunteer you for things at the last minute?~
it seems like a really bad omen that eastern and western easter are on the same day and it's hitler's birthday

i had to waiter for a party of 130 pakistanis
everything was going completely fine until all of a sudden i start getting the guy hosting the party breathing down my neck about trying to get chai tea for everyone in the building before the guys in the kitchen even started making it, and then i had to start rushing out shit tons of cups of unfinished tea that were so hastily filled that they were spilling out over the sides
and during all of this we're severely understaffed and im the only one who seemed half competent at all this

Jesus Christ reigns over all. notice how the pope rarely, if even never, mentioned him by name during his pagan easter traditions, even going so far as to give easter eggs to the American vice president. easter eggs do not come from the bible, they come from paganism. he was the only pope who was also a member of the jesuit order in history. i'm even surprised he dared show his face on the same day of Jesus' resurrection. i think this is what they call divine retribution, but that doesn't mean the catholic power structure is going to go away just like that.

>they come from paganism
thats really only half true, they come from superstition and early symbolism and as a result found itself in several different religions, the egg represented new life or ressurection, so it stuck around in Christian times
even the more traditional orthodox paint boiled eggs red for Pascha

yeah, even if, i still personally think that stuff is kinda dangerous because it has no biblical precedent. my point was that the papacy is not the good guy it makes itself out to be. the pope being a jesuit is hugely important because the jesuits were banned from countries in the past. they were the ones who infiltrated freemasonry and had a huge role in turning it into what it is now. freemasonry, at it's highest degrees, understands that it's purpose is to serve lucifer, as they drop the bible in exchange for the quran, which denies Jesus Christ as our lord and saviour. even in the jesuit oath, it states, "...I will hang, burn, waste, boil, flay, strangle and bury alive those infamous heretics; rip up the stomachs and wombs of the women, and crush their infants’ heads against the walls in order to annihilate their inexecrable race". they do not serve the same Lord as us. even the fact that they ask their priests for forgiveness of their sins, instead of believing in Jesus, that he died for all of our sins, goes to show that they exalt man above Christ. catholicism even has their own version of the bible, the latin vulgate, which corrupts the holy word of God.
