Japanese fact: Did you know that Japanese people take a bath OUTSIDE of the bathtub? They get water everywhere, and it flows between the floorboards and soaks into the wood and walls. Japanese houses typically have to be replaced every 5 years because of irreparable water damage.

thats me in the picture
you are supposed to first rinse your body outside the bath tub with the shower or a washbowl. Afterwards, you enter the tub, which is used for soaking only. The bath water tends to be relatively hot, typically between 40 and 43 degrees.

After soaking, leave the tub and clean your body with soap. Make sure that no soap gets into the bathing water. Once you finished cleaning and have rinsed all the soap off your body, enter the bath tub once more for a final soaking.

Japanese fact: Did you know Japanese houses are made of paper mache? The non-existent thermal insulation makes Japanese homes extremely cold during winter, which is why they lie on the floor under a special kind of heated table with a cloth covering called "kotatsu".

Thousands of Japanese perish every year due to being set alight by tables internal heating element after they fall asleep under them.
japanese houses are a disposable good and used houses have zero value, it's almost expected of japanese men that you have to treat your new wife to a new house, fixing up an old one is simply unheard of and the biggest ick possible

In japan when a house is demolished a new one is not built in its place.
The land is considered disposable and is instead used as a dumping site for nuclear waste from one of the country's many nuclear power plants.

are they retarded?
Why do they keep moving to the city making it sprawl even harder?
In Japan after a harvest the soil is considered to be full of bad yokai.
To expel the ghosts the land is excavated down to bedrock and the tainted soil dumped into the ocean.

In japan chopsticks, plates, cups and even cookware like pots and pans are single use items.
Once the meal is prepared and eaten every items that was soiled by the food is sent to landfill.
