There's nothing stopping you from saying it late.
If you're a hikki and you haven't said anything else to anyone else it still counts.
If you 'have' you can just say you haven't. There's nothing stopping you. You can just lie. It still counts.

Also there's a line of argument that it still counts if you haven't gone outside  or outside at night yet if you think of it as related to the new appearance of each moon.

For an offering you can leave some money in a random place so Fortuna can decide which stranger finds the money.
